Monday, October 8th
Today students completed a chart that covered the achievements and discoveries of scientist during the Scientific Revolution. We finished these in class.Homework: None
Tuesday, October 9th
Today we discussed the Enlightenment. We discussed what it was, when and where it occurred, why it occurred and how it began. We also looked at the major philosophers and their beliefs that helped change society.Homework: Complete the chart if not completed in class.
Wednesday, October 10th
Today was a challenging day for students as they read either compared John Locke and the Declaration of Independence or Montesquieu and the US Constitution. Most classes were able to answer all but one question and will be given time in tomorrow's class to finish.Homework: None
Thursday, October 11th
Today we finished up our comparison between Locke and the Declaration of Independence and MoMontesquieu and the US Constitution. After completing the comparison students will look at Absolute Monarchs in Europe during the 17th and 18th century by completing a chart looking at achievements of the monarchs.Homework: None
Friday, October 12th
Pre-AP students discussed National History Day. we looked at the different types of sources students should be using and the difference between primary and secondary sources. We also gave out an updated schedule for due dates for the first semester.5th and 6th period reviewed for their Chapter 18 Section 1, 2, and 3 test on Tuesday of next week by working on a crossword puzzle and/or preparing study materials (flash cards, study sheets, etc...)
