Week of Novemeber 26th - 30th

Monday, Nov. 26th

Welcome back students! I hope your break was relaxing and enjoyable.
Today students will begin the unit on WWI. Instead of taking reading notes, students will take extensive class notes and use a reading guide with questions while reading the text. Today we will focus on what started and caused WWI.

Homework: Guided Reading 20-3 and 20-4 - DUE WEDNESDAY!!

Tuesday, Nov. 27th

Students will look at how WWI was fought and how the allies won the war. Further we will look at the impact WWI had on the world (League of Nations, New countries in Europe and Middle East, etc...)

Homework: Complete Guided Reading 20-3 and 20-4 - Due TOMORROW!

Wednesday, Nov 28th

Pre-AP students will discuss their NHD outlines to help them write their mini-papers.
5th and 6th period will discuss the Russian Revolution and the formation of the U.S.S.R. or Soviet Union.

Homework:
  • Pre-AP:
    • Work on your outline, DUE MONDAY!!!
    • Begin preparing for the test on Friday. Study Guide prep and Crossword puzzles.

Thursday. Nov. 29th

Pre-AP will discuss the Russian Revolution and the formation of the U.S.S.R. or Soviet Union. 5th and 6th period will play Jeopardy Review game.

Pre-AP will review for their WWI test on Monday. 5th and 6th will take the WWI test.

EDLINE UPDATE!!!

Parents and Students,

Today I will update Edline. You will notice a lot of grades with stars listed instead of a number grade. Do not be alarmed. Most of those have yet to be graded.

Attention 5th and 6th Period: Industrial Revolution Test Pushed Back One Day

Due to an oversight on my part I have postponed the test for 5th and 6th period until tomorrow (Thursday, Nov. 8th) I neglected to remind students to retrieve their notes from the homework bin during 5th and 6th period. Students will take the needs assessment survey in 5th and 6th period today and their Industrial Revolution test tomorrow. 1st, 2nd, and 4th period classes have not changed and took their Industrial Revolution test today and will take the needs assessment survey tomorrow.

In Summation:

5th and 6th: Industrial Rev. Test moved to Thursday, Nov. 8th, Needs Assessment Survey completed in class today.

1st, 2nd, and 4th: No change to the schedule.

Week of Nov. 5th - 9th

Monday, Nov. 5th

Students will look at the problems created during the Industrial Revolution and weigh them against the benefits that come out of the Industrial Revolution. After making a t-chart of the problems and benefits, students will wrote a five paragraph reason that gives detail on the reasons why they think the Industrial Revolution was worth or was not worth the problems it created.

Homework:
  • Complete "Was it worth it" essay, Due TUESDAY!
  • STUDY!!!!

Tuesday, Nov. 6th

Students will prepare for their Industrial Revolution test by playing the review game Jeopardy.

Homework: STUDY!!!

Wednesday, Nov. 7th

TEST DAY!!! Students will take the Industrial Revolution test. If they finish with time in class they will work on the next chapters notes in class.

Homework: 19-4 Reading Notes due FRIDAY!

Thursday, Nov. 8th

Students will take the "Special Needs Assessment Survey." This survey is anonymous and required by the district. It will take nearly the entire period to complete.

Friday, Nov. 9th

Today we will introduce Nationalism and Nation-States (19-4) to the students by looking at what nationalism is and how it effected Europe and Latin America. We will also discuss briefly the US Western Expansion or Manifest Destiny and the Civil War.
