Monday, Sept. 24

Today students will continue to prepare and review for their Reformation quiz by playing the Jeopardy review game.

Tuesday, Sept. 25

Students will take their Reformation Quiz today. It is worth 50 points.

Wednesday, Sept. 26th

Today marks the start of one of if not the most complicated and information filled chapter of our book. Chapter 18 discusses European Exploration, The European Scientific Revolution, the Enlightenment, and the American Revolution. We will focus on Exploration, Scientific Revolution, and the Enlightenment.

Today students will discuss this rapidly changing world and look at the who, what, where, when, why, and how of the Age of Exploration (18.1).

Thursday, Sept. 27th

Today we will continue our discussion of the Age of Exploration by checking the accuracy of our reading notes. Students will create a map using their textbooks and notes of the exploration journeys the book discussed in detail. If not completed in class the map will be due by the start of class on Friday.

  • Explorers Map - Due Friday if not finished in class.

Friday, Sept. 28th

Students will complete our discussion/reading note check on the Age of Exploration by looking at the immediate and long-term consequences of Exploration.

Next week:

Next week students will get to take part in a Student "Mock Election" at the Junior High using real voting machines. I want our students to make this is a realistic as possible by learning a little bit about the candidates, figuring out where they are on the political spectrum, and being thinking through the many different options for candidates and issues that are on this years ballot.
